As we began our search for a product line to align with Tailored, we stumbled across Davines. What drew us in from the beginning was their tag line, “Sustainable beauty.” It sounds cliché. Every industry has been talking about sustainability. We learned that Davines has been functioning this way from the beginning and is committed for the long haul, not just because it’s popular.
“Since the beginning, we’ve focused on crafting quality products that are scientifically engineered to work, and express our distinctive style and spirit.”Davines
They began their work in 1983 as a family-run laboratory in Parma, Italy producing hair care products for other cosmetic companies. After a decade of honing their craft, they began to produce their own line, Davines. “Since the beginning, we’ve focused on crafting quality products that are scientifically engineered to work, and express our distinctive style and spirit.”
Davines is committed to sustainably sourcing and producing products that function to serve a purpose. They are not interested in jumping on every trendy bandwagon to go along with mainstream cosmetic companies. “At Davines, we dare to do what we believe in and, rather than conforming to the mainstream, allow intuition to pave our path. This gives us the freedom to develop concepts and products that are original, authentic, and emotionally connected with people.”
Their heart for people, for community and their respect for the earth and culture align perfectly with Tailored’s desire to build a community, something beyond ourselves. We occasionally get complaints that the plastic cracks too easily and the shape of the conditioner is annoying. All of the clear plastic is 100% biodegradable, which is why it cracks so easily. They changed the shape of 8 ounce conditioners so that more containers would fit effectively in boxes for shipping, thus cutting down on cardboard and shipping costs―a simple sacrifice that makes a big impact.
We love our Davines community that seeks to create beauty around every corner.
