Tailored is committed to community within and outside of the salon. A big
piece of community, we believe, is shared around the table. Community isn’t compartmentalized into categories, but inclusive in all of life.
A component of why we have partnered with Davines is this shared philosophy. A large piece of Davines is protecting and growing community and culture. They are committed to the earth, the farmer and the culture when harvesting ingredients for their products.
In recent years, they began a partnership with a non-profit Slow Food
Foundation for Biodiversity, the Presidia Project.
“This non-profit foundation protects selected places in order to safeguard
the Earth’s biodiversity, by building bridges between ecology, gastronomy,
ethics and the pleasure of the table.
As a result, each of the nine product families contains one specific active
ingredient from a Slow Food Presidium that features the story, the face and
the mane of the person who grew it with care and passion.”
As we seek to blend all aspects of life, we are committed to our community
in Walker’s Point, our community of family and friends and our community of farmers that grow to impact all aspects of our lives–our hair care and our table.
This summer, as you are hosting, we encourage you to buy from your local
farmer’s market. This simple step saves you dollars while supporting local
farmers and local economy.
Here are a few tips for the perfect farmer’s market get together. (Of course
it isn’t always possible to get all of your ingredients at a farmer’s
market, but we encourage you to get as many as possible!)
One of our favorite ways to host friends and family without a lot of fuss is
by creating a cheese board, a charcuterie board or a crudité platter. Fresh
ingredients, no cooking and minimal prep can create the perfect summer get together. Here are a few inspirations.
